Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and continuously improve all sanitation programs, ensuring procedures are executed as documented and fully compliant with internal standards and industry best practices

Partner with the VP of Operations, Director of Quality, and Sanitation team to maintain a constant state of inspection readiness

Champion a culture of food safety and sanitation across the site in partnership with Quality and Twin Falls leadership

Participate in microbiological investigations and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitary systems

Validate the effectiveness of sanitation processes through data, verification activities, and on-floor observation

Develop, maintain, and standardize Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs aligned with regulatory requirements and corporate standards

Serve as the technical lead for all CIP programming, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure systems are effective, efficient, and repeatable

Build, implement, and sustain a best-in-class CIP validation program supported by appropriate technical and personnel resources

Design and deliver robust technical training programs covering sanitation fundamentals, chemical handling, CIP mechanics, and hygienic equipment design

Track, analyze, and report sanitation KPIs including CIP and changeover efficiency, MSS compliance, chemical usage, and right-first-time performance

Cultivate strong vendor partnerships by establishing clear programs, performance metrics, and accountability expectations

Partner with Procurement on vendor selection, contract requirements, and service agreements for sanitation services and supplies

Lead or support corrective action planning, documentation, and follow-up for identified sanitation gaps, ensuring leadership visibility and alignment

Ensure Plant Sanitation and Food Safety Managers are fully trained on corporate sanitation protocols and expectations

Recommend and coordinate third-party training opportunities for sanitation and food safety personnel

Communicate with federal and state agencies as requested by site Quality leadership to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance

Build and maintain strong relationships with customer food safety and sanitation professionals

Required

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered for highly qualified candidates

Proven experience developing, implementing, or operating within robust sanitation and food safety systems

Technical expertise in food manufacturing equipment and CIP systems, including mechanics, PIN chart development, and interpretation of technical drawings

Strong problem-solving skills with a scientific, preventive approach

Comfortable working in varied manufacturing environments including loud, wet areas with chemical exposure and large equipment

Collaborative and influential communicator with the ability to partner across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, vendors, auditors, and technical teams

Solid knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, federal and state regulations, and food safety requirements

Flexibility to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation, including off-hours and weekends

Willingness to travel up to 50 percent as needed
