Thermal Spray Set-Up Technician (2nd Shift, Mon-Fri)
Component Repair Technologies (CRT) is a family-owned business specializing in the repair and overhaul of turbine engine components. The Thermal Spray Set-Up Technician will support thermal spray technicians by preparing parts for dimensional restoration and conducting surface preparations using grit blasting processes.

Responsibilities
Through our extensive in-house training program, (OJT) the successful applicant will be instructed via a series of computer based and hands-on training, the necessary skills of the position. Organize components staged in your department to support a more efficient schedule
Review router and operational sketches to identify the work to be performed
Review masking and perform grit blasting operations using the specified materials
Gather and set up required tooling such as fixtures, gauges, and other miscellaneous items
Mask components as required to protect surfaces from subsequent operations
Grit blast all required areas to the appropriate surface finish specified in the work instructions
Apply tape by hand
Apply hard masking such as caps and shields by following documented work instructions
Trim masking using knives, razor blades, or other sharp tools. Trim masking in accordance with detailed work instructions to precise dimensions
Remove masking from components, clean with solvents by hand or power wash
General housekeeping such as sweeping, organizing, and general cleanup
Inspect work for completion and quality
Be flexible to meet or exceed productivity expectations
Follow written work instructions accurately including engineered sketches and drawings
Follow verbal instructions. Clearly understand all instructions before proceeding with work. Communicate frequently with fellow technicians regarding work instructions
Qualification
Required
Able to use measuring devices such as scales, micrometers and dial indicators, go/no-go gauges etc
Experience in reading shop drawings and work instructions and the documentation of work performed
Previous experience in the operation of overhead cranes
General experience using files and other hand tools to remove sharp edges from metal surfaces
Preferred
High school or technical school graduate or equivalent
Familiar with or able to learn basic shop math
Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs
Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must be able to use hand tools and have good hand eye coordination
Ability to work independently and have the knowledge to perform the job with minimum supervision
