Responsibilities

Serves as an installation Sexual Assault/Sexual Harassment Victim Advocate. Provides a wide range of essential support and advocacy services, liaison services, and care to victims of sexual assault/sexual harassment in accordance with generally accepted procedures and techniques
Maintains support and follow-up contact with sexual assault/sexual harassment victims throughout the lifecycle of the case. Responsible for providing initial response services such as access to emergency medical treatment (secondary prevention) and long-term support and care as needed (tertiary prevention)
Assists the installation SARC in the development and delivery of comprehensive sexual assault/sexual harassment training. Facilitates or assists in the planning, scheduling, and delivery of sexual assault/sexual harassment response training for all installation personnel, leadership, deploying personnel, and other key functional stakeholders to include annual refresher SAPR training
Represents the SAPR installation program both military and civilian agencies. Establishes liaison with local victim support agencies in order to gain support and cooperation in achieving support for victims of sexual assault/sexual harassment and to promote the enhancement of the sexual assault/sexual harassment prevention and response services

Males must be registered for Selective Service
Minimum of Tier 3 Background Check augmented by a State Criminal History Record Check (SCHRC) OR enrollment in Continuous Evaluation (CE) is required
Must obtain and maintain DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification and recertification from the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA), as specified in DoD and AF policy
The work requires the employee to drive a POV/GOV. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for this position
Applicants must have successfully completed a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science or related disciplines, appropriate for the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Specialist at the NH-0101-02 position
Must have a combination of education and experience that provides you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field
Knowledge of a wide range of social science and social work principles, concepts, and practices relating to victim advocacy and prevention of and response to sexual assault/sexual harassment
Knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues, etc., to include the Air Force organizational structure, management policies, methods, and practices relating to sexual assault/sexual harassment victim advocacy, and related interpersonal violence
Knowledge of social service delivery systems, methods, and theories relating to victim advocacy, sexual assault/sexual harassment
Knowledge of training and education techniques to implement and deliver sexual assault/sexual harassment training
Skill in applying tact and diplomacy during interactions with internal and external officials during difficult and sensitive circumstances and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations and individuals to identify, establish, modify and provide victim support/assistance
Ability to employ various methods and techniques typical of a sexual assault/sexual harassment victim advocate program, including crisis intervention, situational assessment, and analyzing the needs of the victim to provide support and/or assistance to them in the resolution of complex problems
