Electrical Engineer III

Responsibilities

Designs and/or develops/processes new products, special instruments, and unique equipment to meet specific requirements of customer orders
Develops/assesses production or inspection operations and sequences, acceptance equipment and processing methods required to manufacture or inspect complex components and assemblies
Monitors and analyzes electrical testing of products and troubleshoots test failures
Participates in developing operating procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria on new products and components
Plans and performs engineering testing and uses advanced statistical and scientific methods to address and resolve engineering and production problems and to assure product manufacturability
Refines product definitions, based on knowledge of manufacturing capability, to assure that released designs can be produced
Interacts with customers, design agency and/or supplier counterparts to resolve moderate design, development, production, and acceptance issues
Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates the most cost-effective improvements for product, test equipment, procedures, and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flowtime
Provides project leadership and technical guidance on complex engineering projects

Required

Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited university in Engineering or Physics from an accredited program
4+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities
United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

Preferred

Manufacturing or production industry experience is a plus
Experience interpreting and reviewing product requirements is a plus
Prior experience partnering and providing instruction to hourly personnel
Demonstrates application of advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to complex engineering projects
Demonstrates working under minimal supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making
