Senior Press Controls Engineer

They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Press Controls Engineer to lead the development and optimization of control systems for advanced press machinery, focusing on enhancing manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

Implement process improvements with regards to electrical control systems using all available current controls technologies
Maintain control systems to ensure manufacturing activities are in within specifications and interpret and apply specifications for manufacturability
Support maintenance activities in PM scheduling as well as training and developing maintenance technicians from a controls perspective
Collects, tracks, and advises on downtime issues and implements short and long-term solutions to minimize downtime
Manage and execute in-house projects for implementing new engineering changes that modify assembly processes and create / revise electrical drawings in AutoCad format
Develop and implement HMI / MMI interfaces for existing manufacturing systems
Liaise with vendors regarding software / hardware updates and troubleshooting systems
Other related activities related to the scope of the position

Required

BS: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 3 years experience in a controls/robotic environment
AS: Electronics Technology plus 5 years controls experience in a controls/robotics environment
7+ years' experience and training in a similar role and environment
High skill set of PC and communication skills
Strong proficiency with PLC (Siemens, Beckhoff, A-B Control Logix, RS View & Panel View), Siemens Step 7, Safety PLC's (Pilz & Guard logix), Indramat Servo Drive systems, PanelBuilder, PPC & TWINCAT
Proficient in industrial control
Proficient in AutoCAD electrical
Proficient in creating and following project management timelines
Ability to work in a team-based lean-manufacturing environment
Ability to work off shifts as required
Ability to manage and document electrical & controls changes
Ability to update and manage electrical prints
