Specification Sales Manager (Remote: West Territory)
Construction Specialties is a specialty building products manufacturer that provides solutions to building challenges faced by architects, designers, and contractors. The Specification Sales Manager is responsible for driving firm-level influence across key architectural and design firms, ensuring the creation of design specifications that promote brand and product adoption.
Responsibilities
Responsible for generating, increasing, and improving CS Basis of Design specifications across the U.S., working with the Sales team to track and close them to drive incremental sales and margin
Partner with reporting manager to define and execute growth strategies that strengthen Construction Specialties’ presence within key firms
Drive specification growth through targeted engagement with top Architecture and Design (A&D) firms, ensuring 100% of firm specifications are tagged and linked to associated customer account in Salesforce
Consistently utilize CRM to capture accounts, contacts, and BOD Master Opportunity tracking
Update architect specifications (created/rewritten/modified) to Basis of Design or better to expand specifications that drive brand adoption and consistent prototype execution
Assist the Architecture & Design community in creating, rewriting, and modifying project specifications as needed
Identify, establish, and grow coverage and relationships within both current and emerging firms in the Architecture and Design community
Recommend product solutions and/or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Assist the Sales team in promoting and securing new major accounts, including participation in local association or trade shows as deemed necessary
Collaborate with the local representative network to respond to inquiries from customers and architects concerning pricing, product application, and technical product information. Coordinate with the company’s technical engineering staff to determine customer needs
Prepare and submit periodic reports on activity measurements, sales volume, expenses, etc., for the reporting manager
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school
5 years' experience in construction, contracting or related industry
Read architectural drawings
Strong appetite for applied learning
Building trusting relationships
High impact communications
Results oriented – self motivated
Strong Presentation Skills
Team player – motivated to achieve own objectives but puts higher priority on team goals
Proficiency in Salesforce, Power BI and PowerPoint/Excel
Knowledge of the commercial construction process & architectural specification market
External relationship cultivator/maintainer
