Sparrow Company Executive Search & Staffing is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join their Electrostatics R&D team. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs and collaborating with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet performance and manufacturability requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)
Collaborate with engineers to translate conceptual designs into manufacturable components
Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection for mechanical systems
Revise and update existing designs to improve performance, reduce cost, or support product enhancements
Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective
Maintain design documentation, drawing standards, and version control
Support prototype builds and assists in testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to cross-functional teams

Required

Associate's or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field
2–5 years of experience in mechanical design
Proficiency in 3D CAD SolidWorks
Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems
Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems and engineering documentation practices
Strong attention to detail and design accuracy
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

Preferred

Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or simulation tools is a plus
