Legacy Professionals LLP is a Chicagoland-based CPA firm specializing in audit, accounting, and tax services. They are seeking a Compliance Auditor to perform compliance audits for various fringe benefit funds, ensuring proper contributions are made on behalf of employees.

Responsibilities

Read collective bargaining agreements and understand the basis upon which contributions should be made

Prepare audit files and set appointments

Perform fieldwork based on compliance audit program

Record payroll taxes

Classify employees

Record payroll

Review bank records such as accounts payable/check register

Prepare final audit report

Required

Bachelor's degree in a business related field. Accounting (Non-CPA path), Finance or business majors preferred or Associates degree with at least 2 years of related professional work experience

Strong analytical, research and technical skills

Strong computer skills such as Microsoft Excel

Teamwork and communications skills

Detail oriented and able to handle numerous assignments

Must have reliable transportation in order to drive to employer locations for audit assignments. Local travel will be required and out-of-town travel may be required at times

Preferred

Familiarity with payroll systems/business checking accounts is a plus
