Responsibilities

Advise federal acquisition stakeholders on systems engineering approaches across acquisition pathways and lifecycle stages

Support revision and interpretation of acquisition policies aligned to DoD-style pathway frameworks

Tailor systems engineering processes to fit different program types, sizes, and risk profiles

Author and review acquisition policy documentation and supporting guidance

Provide expert judgment on appropriate systems engineering entrance and exit criteria

Collaborate closely with acquisition policy SMEs and government stakeholders

Translate systems engineering concepts into clear, policy-oriented recommendations

This role does not involve direct participation in technical design reviews (e.g., PDR/CDR), but requires strong understanding of how these reviews are conducted and governed

Required

7-10+ years of experience as a systems engineer within a DoD or DHS acquisition environment

Hands-on experience supporting DoD acquisition program offices (PEO or PMO experience highly desirable)

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field

Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (active Public Trust preferred to expedite onboarding)

Strong understanding of: DoD acquisition lifecycles and pathways, DoD 5000-series policies, ACAT classifications, Systems engineering roles within acquisition governance

Ability to advise on acquisition policy and process tailoring

Proven ability to work independently and communicate recommendations tactfully to senior government stakeholders
