Manufacturing
Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
Study sample parts and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances
Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in SOLIDWORKS
Generate efficient CNC programs using SOLIDWORKS CAM / CAMWorks for 2-axis turning as dwell as 3-, and 4-axis milling
Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies to optimize cycle times and tool life
Set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills (3- and 4-axis)
Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gages, etc.)
Edit programs at the machine control (Fanuc) as needed
Design and fabricate work-holding fixtures and custom tools when required
Ability to create precision parts with manual lathes, mills and horizontal boring machines when necessary
Troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements
Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of hands-on CNC/manual machining experience on both lathes and mills
Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (modeling, assemblies, drawings) and SOLIDWORKS CAM or CAMWorks
Strong experience programming complex parts from solid models (not just 2D prints)
Proven ability to set up and run tight-tolerance parts (±0.0005" or better)
Excellent understanding of GD&T and metrology
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must pass drug test on random basis if requested
Preferred
Experience with up to 4-axis milling and turning machines
CAMWORKS or other CAM software knowledge
Fixture design experience
Basic manual machining skills (engine lathe, bridgeport, horizontal boring machines)
Technical school, apprenticeship, or associate degree in machining/manufacturing strongly preferred
