Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) provides reliable and environmentally balanced electric services to its member cooperatives. They are seeking a Summer Associate (Legal Intern) who will perform legal research and support the legal team on various projects within the energy industry.

Responsibilities

Review hard-copy documents in support of ODEC’s Information Governance initiative

Perform legal research on contract, regulatory, and governance issues relevant to ODEC

Attend team, project, and/or department meetings, as available, to learn more about ODEC’s structure and functions

Support ODEC’s legal team on contract review and other projects

Perform other duties as assigned, such as visiting generation facilities and observing PJM and FERC proceedings

Required

Successfully completed one year of an accredited law school in Spring 2026

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and legal software such as Westlaw

Ability to effectively research and analyze legal issues

Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred

Electric utility and cooperative knowledge and experience preferred
