Responsibilities
Install new wiring, light fixtures, electrical panels, motors, and other electrical components and apparatus
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality
Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, wiring, and equipment
Ensure all installations and repairs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and OSHA safety standards
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications to understand electrical system layouts
Test and inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for repairs or adjustments
Safely use a variety of hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and specialized testing equipment
Qualification
Required
Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program
State-issued electrician's license or certification
Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding electrical diagrams
