Responsibilities
Architect the backbone of onboard reliability: build the critical infrastructure and tooling ecosystem that ensures onboard software is robust and reliable by design
Develop a deep understanding of system behavior, implementing dense, low-noise metrics providing immediate insight into vehicle and fleet performance
Collaborate across Waymo to refine reliability workflows, ensuring business-critical operations run smoothly and safely at scale
Engineer systems that proactively detect anomalies and automate clustering, drastically reducing the friction of managing reliability and catching issues early
Qualification
Required
BS in Comp Sci, EE, Robotics, Physics, Math, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in C++ or Python, building scalable pipelines and tooling
Understanding of fundamental statistical concepts and applying them in the real world
2+ years of experience organizing chaos across organizational boundaries
Preferred
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
Experience with autonomous vehicles (L4) or ADAS systems (L2/L3)
Experience in software reliability space
