Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company that provides aftermarket parts and repairs for aircraft engines and gas turbines. The NDT Technician - Grain-Laue Inspector is responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections on product in the grain etch condition and using Laue x-ray equipment to measure single crystal grain angle.

Responsibilities

Aligns castings on Laue unit

Processes casting in accordance with approved Laue techniques

Verifies grain structures are acceptable to required techniques

Monitors working area to protect personnel

Performs daily equipment preparation and radiation safety inspections

Qualification

Required

Laue Level I and II Certification must be obtained to perform this function

High school diploma, general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to apply concepts of basic arithmetic and geometry

Ability to interpret drawings

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Must pass near vision-JAEGER Type No. 1 test and Color Perception test

Must be able to maintain certification with periodic testing per industry standards
