Dominion Energy is committed to providing reliable and clean energy and is seeking a Drafting Intern for their Substation Standards Department. The role involves producing drawings and data that accurately depict the physical infrastructure of electric substations and supporting engineering and design requirements.

Responsibilities

Produce drawings and data that clearly and accurately depict the physical transmission and distribution substation infrastructure

Provide drafting services that support engineering and design requirements

Prepare detailed system, equipment or component drawings; as-built drawings; electronic drawing and document control; and drawing revisions

Use manual and electronic drafting tools and be proficient with a computer and associated software, such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Windows and Excel

Collaborate with varied disciplines both internally and externally to produce engineering drawings

Produce drawings from designer notes and sketches

Required

Must be completing their first year of an associate degree program in a technical field with an emphasis on computer aided design applications such as AutoCAD graduating in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027

Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and above

Demonstrated proficiency with a computer and associated drafting software, such as Windows and AutoCAD

Ability to collaborate with varied disciplines both internally and externally

Ability to produce drawings from designer notes and sketches

Experience with manual and electronic drafting tools
