Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data analysts, architects and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
Design, develop, and implement end-to-end data pipelines utilizing ETL processes and technologies such as Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, SQL, and Jupyter Notebooks
Build and optimize data pipelines from scratch, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
Conduct data cleansing, data integration, validation, and data quality assurance to ensure accuracy and integrity across large, diverse datasets
Apply big data technologies to process and analyze high-volume datasets commonly encountered in a federal environments
Diagnose and resolve complex data issues, providing innovative, efficient solutions to support mission-critical operations
Contribute to best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement of data engineering processes
Support hybrid schedule 2-3 days per week on-site
Qualification
Required
U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship)
Current security clearance (Secret at a minimum)
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with demonstrated experience creating data pipelines from scratch
Recent experience and proficiency working on the ADVANA platform is a must
High level of proficiency in ETL development
Hands-on experience with Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, and SQL
Proven experience working with large datasets and leveraging big data technologies for efficient processing and analysis
Effective written and verbal communication skills to excel in a blended government and contractor team environment
Ability to work on-site (2-3 days per week)
Preferred
Experience with data governance, metadata management, or data cataloging tools is a plus
Familiarity with Air Force or DoD data systems is highly desirable
