Responsibilities
Designs and manages planning projects, guides internal teams and consultants towards firmwide design excellence and problem solving
Designs and manages landscape architecture projects
Responsible for the design quality of work
Develops solutions to design problems
Originates and develops creative design concepts and the design documents during the design development phase
Demonstrates creative thinking abilities and contributes to Firmwide design excellence and problem solving
Follows a holistic and integrated approach to design focusing on creating high performing sustainable solutions
Responsible for conceptual design excellence; initiates project design and idea discussions
Responsible for promoting and maintaining HOK’s design reputation
Effectively listens and responds to client goals and offers excellent solutions and service
Maintains strong communication and relations with other HOK practices and resources
Continually contributes to the upgrade of the design process, working collaboratively with designers from other disciplines
Designs, develops, modifies and reviews drawings for landscape architecture projects
Demonstrates reliable understanding of the relationship between design and constructability
Assist in the preparation of proposals; participates in interviews and public presentations
Participates in marketing and business development opportunities
Identifies new business opportunities while developing current client relationships
Oversees design team or less experienced designers to ensure design intent
Mentors and directs the work of less experienced staff and may participate in professional development reviews
Participates in interviews and the recruiting of professional staff
Proactively engages staff and provides opportunities for development
Actively promotes collaborative and innovative culture
Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture or architecture plus 10 years' experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required
Registration with current license required
LEED credential required within 12 months of employment
