Responsibilities
Define the AI Privacy Strategy & Roadmap: Lead the long-term vision for Tonic Textual. You will own the roadmap for proprietary NER models and custom entity workflows, identifying how to protect data across the entire AI lifecycle, from ingestion to RAG enrichment
Execute with a Bias Toward Action: Move fast to turn messy document stores into "AI-ready" assets. We need a builder who thrives in ambiguity and is eager to ship high-impact features without waiting for perfect consensus
Go Deep on the AI Ecosystem: Dive into the technical weeds of LLMs, RAG architectures, and NLP research. You’ll serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring Textual remains a foundational component of the modern, enterprise-scale AI stack
Drive "Model-Based" Innovation: Lead the development of self-serve tools that allow users to train tailored entity-detection models, effectively democratizing data science for privacy teams in highly-regulated industries
Strategic Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Engineering and Research to push the boundaries of synthesis while collaborating with Sales and Marketing to evangelize our category-defining solution to the market
Qualification
Required
Founder Mentality: Ideally you're a former founder or have a proven track record of acting like one, taking extreme end-to-end ownership of outcomes, experimenting relentlessly, and operating with a high degree of autonomy
Deep AI & Technical Curiosity: A desire to go deep into the technical weeds of the AI space. You should have a sophisticated understanding of (or an obsession with) LLMs, RAG architectures, and NLP. You can hold your own in architectural debates with engineers and data scientists
Bias Toward Action: A track record of navigating the 'messy middle' of a rapidly evolving market. You prefer shipping and iterating over long planning cycles and are comfortable making high-stakes decisions with imperfect data
Scale-Up Experience: 5+ years of product management experience in high-growth B2B SaaS, specifically within AI/ML, developer tools, or data infrastructure. You know how to take a product from initial traction to market-leading scale in a rapidly shifting technical landscape
Strategic Storytelling: The ability to translate complex technical concepts, like embedding privacy or tokenization, into compelling narratives for C-level executives and technical buyers alike
Timezone Synchronicity: Ability to work a schedule that aligns with East Coast (EST) business hours to ensure high-bandwidth collaboration with internal partners
