Engineering Technician-Test Technician

The role involves conducting tests and service functions to ensure product reliability and performance, along with fabricating and assembling experimental parts based on provided instructions.

Responsibilities

Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to Safety in all aspects of the job and all company meetings
Conducts and documents test for new products, existing products and purchased components
Ensures functionality, performance, required safety testing and service life to achieve desired levels of product reliability and user acceptance directed by design engineering
Read, write, and interpret the test performed, summarizing the results and recommendations for improvement to Engineering or vendors
Weigh all products and major components and records the data in the computer system
Coordinates customer testing when applicable
Design assembly fixtures and special test tooling as needed
Assist Quality Department when needed
Assist in maintaining department’s prototype inventory and tractors
Maintains prototype storage area, shop bay and testing area in a clean, orderly and professional manner
Use and maintain the department’s instrumentation including the data acquisition equipment
Operate the department’s truck and trailer as required to support the test program
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Required

Desire and capability to work with machinery in a “hands on” environment required
Knowledge and experience in fabrication, welding and tractor mechanics required
Must be computer literate
Must have a valid driver's license, health card and DOT training to operate the department's truck and trailer or be willing to obtain within 6 weeks
Associate's degree in technology or equivalent experience required

Preferred

Hydraulic and electrical systems knowledge and experience preferred
Familiar with CAD program preferred
5+ years in dealership service experience preferred
CAD program experience (Solid Works) preferred
