Responsibilities
Primarily responsible for the operation of the hospital switchboard
This includes answering external and internal calls and routing them as needed or requested
It includes contacting physicians and hospital personnel
The position monitors many hospital alarms, follows procedures to notify appropriate staff as documented, and documents actions taken
Responsible for notifications during emergency situations such as weather alerts
Effective communication is needed to excel in this position
Qualification
Required
Effective communication skills
Ability to operate a hospital switchboard
Experience in answering external and internal calls
Ability to route calls as needed or requested
Ability to contact physicians and hospital personnel
Ability to monitor hospital alarms
Ability to follow procedures to notify appropriate staff
Ability to document actions taken
Ability to handle notifications during emergency situations such as weather alerts
