Troon is seeking a skilled and dedicated Golf Course Mechanic to join their turf maintenance team at Glenview Golf Course. The role involves the daily maintenance, repair, and sharpening of turf equipment to ensure high-quality cuts across the greens, tees, and fairways.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily maintenance, repair, and sharpening of a wide range of turf equipment, including greens mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and specialized reel units

Perform routine preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues, and maintain accurate service records

Work closely with the superintendent and assistant superintendents to support daily course setup

Required

Proven experience with reel grinding (both spin and relief grinding)

Bedknife sharpening

Adjusting mowers for optimal height-of-cut and quality-of-cut standards

Performing routine preventative maintenance

Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues

Maintaining accurate service records

Reliability

Attention to detail

Commitment to delivering pristine playing conditions through exceptional equipment performance

Preferred

Prior experience in golf course maintenance

Prior experience in small engine repair

Ability to work early mornings
