Responsibilities
Verify patient insurance information and eligibility to determine coverage for ambulance services
Review patient medical records, transport documentation, and other relevant information to ensure accuracy in coding and billing
Stay updated on healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and payer policies to ensure compliance and accurate reimbursement
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding-related queries, ensuring accurate coding and billing
Accurately enter patient and billing information into the healthcare organization's billing system
Assist patients and their families with billing inquiries, explain charges, and provide assistance in resolving billing issues
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of Medicare Part B Ambulance medical coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS)
Familiarity with Traumasoft billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Time management and organizational skills
Previous experience in Medicare Part B Ambulance medical billing
MUST HAVE PROFICIENCY IN TRAUMASOFT
