Mechanical Engineering Intern – Hyper-RF Division

They are seeking motivated students for their Summer Internship Program to gain hands-on experience in engineering projects, specifically in developing and testing custom solutions for radar and telemetry systems.

Responsibilities

Work with a team of engineers, scientists, and project managers
Perform technology research, including field surveys, trade studies, and comparative analysis
Assist in design and testing of prototype and production systems using electrical and/or mechanical engineering skills
Utilize configuration management tools to document and iterate upon mechanical designs
Conduct field testing and evaluation of components, systems, and products

Required

Must be a high school graduate
Due to the nature of the position U.S. Citizenship is required
Currently enrolled or recently completed post-secondary program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Willing and able to work on-site at the Germantown, MD AV office for the duration of the internship
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong background and interest in one or more of: mechanical design, cable design, CAD, 3D printing

Preferred

Experience with mechanical design
Skills in prototyping, machining, and/or assembly
Experience in engineering product prototype, production, or integration test design/testing
Familiarity with thermal analysis
Competency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel or MATLAB
Skills in software development for embedded microcontrollers
Participation in extracurricular student engineering competitions
