Responsibilities

Maintain and optimize the SQL Server data warehouse, ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity

Identify and implement enhancements to ETL processes, data pipelines, and operational workflows

Serve as the technical lead for data engineering initiatives, collaborating with Product Owners, Managers, and agile teams to deliver on sprint and program objectives

Oversee all aspects of data engineering activities, including design, development, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support

Work closely with business and technology teams to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions

Ensure adherence to data governance, security policies, and best practices across all data engineering activities

Stay up to date with technology changes, particularly in cloud platforms and data privacy

Required

10+ years of IT experience with a focus on hands-on development and data architecture

Proficient in data modeling, pipeline creation, and merging datasets

Experienced in leading client engagements and translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

6+ years of real-world data warehousing project experience, with a deep understanding of architectural principles and design patterns

Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake for data warehousing and Spark for data processing

Proven experience in designing efficient and robust ETL/ELT workflows and job scheduling

Expertise in performance tuning of SQL queries and Spark jobs

Experience with Git, Jira, and Agile methodologies

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a self-driven attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Strong attention to detail, collaborative mindset, and curiosity

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
