Responsibilities
Support collection of native seeds in region
Participate in prescribed fire operations
Support restoration projects (field work, planting, site prep, management, etc.)
Conduct research projects to increase use and success of native seed in restoration
Communicate results or studies and project success to professional audiences
Create/ support ongoing documentation and data collection
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in natural resource management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in principles of seed restoration
Experience in field data collection, data compilation, and analysis of data sets
Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, i.e., media, government officials, internal scientists
Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s)
Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc
The person selected for this position is required to pass the arduous WCT and will be expected to assist on Rx burning throughout the state
Preferred
Experience in natural resource management
Ability and willingness to apply science to decision-making and guide activities
Knowledge of ecological land management principles
Knowledge of current trends and practices in conservation, land management and natural resource preservation
