Responsibilities

Devise innovative computational approaches to analyze and interpret multi-omic data, including using machine learning for predictive biology applications
Work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists
Communicate your research through internal presentations, rigorous documentation, and helping with peer-reviewed manuscript preparation

Required

Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America. Sandia will not sponsor work authorization for this position

Preferred

A strong background in computer science, including coding and algorithm development
Familiarity with generative AI, in particular biological language models
Familiarity with multi-omic data
Experience with high-performance computing clusters and job schedulers
