Transmission Manager

Responsibilities

Lead Blue Energy’s transmission and interconnection strategy across the U.S
Help screen development sites to assess costs and interconnection and deliverability feasibility of generation, and potential co-located data center loads
Manage, negotiate, and navigate interconnection queue processes and agreements, including technical, procedural, and commercial aspects and alignment with EPC and project teams
Analyze grid power flows, constraints, and upgrade requirements to inform project siting and development
Collaborate with internal teams to align transmission insights with project development, permitting, and commercial strategies
Engage with RTOs, utilities, and regulators to advocate for project needs and ensure timely interconnection outcomes
Track and interpret transmission policy developments, market rule changes, and interconnection reforms
Build and manage external relationships with consultants, transmission planners, and engineering firms
Represent Blue Energy as a thought leader and subject matter expert on transmission with customers and in industry forums, working groups, and stakeholder processes

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field
6-8+ years of professional experience in transmission planning, grid interconnection, or power system operations
Deep understanding of interconnection processes in PJM, ERCOT, SERC and vertically integrated utilities
Strong technical skills in grid modelling, power flow studies, and constraint and cost analysis
Proven ability to work across teams and communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience engaging with utilities, data center developers and hyperscalers, RTOs, and regulatory agencies

Preferred

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field
Prior experience supporting large-scale generation projects from early development feasibility through interconnection processes
Familiarity with transmission network upgrade cost assessment, congestion analysis, and market design
Strong understanding of LGIA negotiation, queue timelines, and grid integration risks
Familiarity with power flow tools such as TARA, PSS®E, PowerWorld, and PSLF
Strong industry network and established credibility with RTOs, Data Centers, large load customers, utilities, and regulators
Demonstrated leadership experience managing external consultants and cross-functional project teams
