Senior Network Engineer
nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions. They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain their global enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of their systems.
Responsibilities
Plan, design, and implement scalable LAN, WAN, and cloud-based network solutions
Develop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and standards
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability
Perform upgrades, patches, and configuration changes across routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
Participate in an on-call rotation for escalations
Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with industry standards
Lead network-related projects, migrations, and integrations
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across IT teams
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and vendors
Work closely with business stakeholders to align network solutions with organizational goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Ideally 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
Routing and switching (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.)
Firewalls and security appliances (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA)
Wireless technologies and VPN solutions
Cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
SD-WAN technologies and application aware routing
Strong knowledge of protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS, DHCP)
Experience designing networks for a multi-national organization
Familiarity with global regulatory requirements
Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.)
Preferred
Master's degree
Relevant certifications (CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent) strongly preferred
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies
