Trusts and Estates, Probate and Fiduciary Litigation Attorney
Goldstein Mauer PLLC is a New York City–based trusts & estates and private-client firm that provides comprehensive legal services in estate planning and litigation. They are seeking an attorney with 2-5 years of litigation and trusts & estates experience to represent clients in contested probate and fiduciary matters, manage caseloads, and assist with various estate administration tasks.

Responsibilities
Represent fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and interested parties in contested probate, accounting, and turnover proceedings before the Surrogate’s Court, including motion practice, discovery, and settlement negotiation
Draft and argue motions under the SCPA and CPLR; handle discovery, witness prep, and evidentiary hearings
Manage written discovery, subpoenas, and handle beneficiary communications, settlement agreements, and fiduciary disputes
Assist with probate and administration matters, including petition preparation, heirship verification, fiduciary appointments and asset marshaling
Qualification
Required
JD and New York bar admission in good standing
2-5 years litigation experience is required
2-5 years of substantive trusts & estates experience, with experience preparing probate/intestate administration petitions and related filings for Surrogate's Court, is required
Strong research/writing and motion practice; ability to take/defend depositions and argue motions
Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, time-management and project management skills
Preferred
Experience in contested probate, contested accountings, and turnover/discovery proceedings is strongly preferred, but for the right candidate with both litigation experience and substantive trusts & estate experience, the Firm will work with the candidate to develop them into a Surrogate's Court practitioner
