Sr Vice President / Director, Health Digital

Responsibilities

Provides strategic vision to continuously advance relationships with key clients, operates as a strategic consultant across a range of areas; supports business development initiatives; is a change agent internally and with partners and clients, leading the way in best practice digital communications, problem solving, coaching and building buy-in and consensus for innovative approaches that meet the unique needs of pharmaceutical brands and franchises; serves as the senior digital lead and trusted advisor to client decision-makers
Analyzes client business, marketing and communications problems and sparks imagination and experimentation for digital-first solutions for both branded and unbranded pharma initiatives, including omnichannel experience design across web, social, email, CRM, media and emerging platforms; works through cross-functional digital teams to deliver integrated, high-quality programs aligned to a single digital strategy and measurement plan
Acts as the central connector for digital on the account, ensuring the right SMEs (for example social, performance media, CRM, UX, data and analytics, search) are engaged at the right time; clarifies roles and responsibilities; and drives integration with Edelman Health, Creative, Planning, Data and Intelligence and other partners so the client experiences one unified digital team
Understands US pharmaceutical marketing regulations and guidance and how they apply in digital, including OPDP considerations, adverse event reporting, privacy and data use; can translate clinical and scientific information into clear, accurate and engaging digital content and journeys within MLR constraints for both branded and unbranded campaigns
Acts as a true expert for brands on how to show up successfully on digital platforms; is well-versed in Edelman’s digital-focused offerings and up-to-date on the latest the market has to offer, with a strong command of channel strategy, content formats and measurement approaches specific to pharmaceutical branded and unbranded programs
Is familiar with managing an experience design process, including mapping HCP and patient journeys, defining digital roles for branded and unbranded touchpoints, and informing content architecture and UX for pharma sites and campaigns
Earns and builds trust with clients and key stakeholders as the go-to digital leader on the business, able to simplify complexity and connect digital work back to brand and business goals
Is a source of valuable insights to internal teams and clients; provides sound counsel on the relative risks and benefits of a given strategic approach (rather than “selling” a perfect idea) and can clearly articulate tradeoffs between reach, impact and regulatory risk in pharma digital programs
Embodies Edelman’s values and creates a team culture that encourages excellence, courage, inclusion and integrity
Recruits, engages, retains and builds a pipeline of talent and creates an environment for them to grow and thrive, with a focus on developing digital talent who understand the nuances of pharma and health care marketing and how to collaborate effectively in integrated teams

Demonstrates effective financial management that mitigates risk and drives growth and long-term value for Edelman and our clients

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
12+ years of health digital experience in an agency setting
