Ink Technician

The Ink Technician is responsible for supplying the pressroom with all applied materials required for the manufacture of the product line, ensuring color matching and control, and maintaining material supplies throughout press runs.

Responsibilities

Follow established color matching and color control procedures for the department
Perform all necessary recording functions, labeling of each batch/drum, inventory ticket, batch ticket
Assist the shift supervisor as required
Blend or prepare, as required, all other applied materials for each press run, solvent, lacquers, adhesives
Maintain supply of materials throughout the press runs
Receiving of materials and rotating stock (includes forklift operations)
Follow all department and plant safety procedures and be an active participant in our safety programs
Job requires a high level of self-motivation and advanced prioritization skills
Other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and talk or hear
This position may require manual lifting not to exceed 50 lbs
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
