CORE Lead Coordinator

Esperanza Health Center is a community health organization focused on connecting the North Philadelphia community with essential resources. The CORE Lead Coordinator will oversee activities at the CORE Community Center, develop and implement policies, and foster relationships with community members while managing a part-time Events Coordinator.

Responsibilities

Oversee activities in EHC’s CORE building, including the use of the space by community partners, internal EHC teams and departments, individuals, and families
Develop and implement policies for The CORE, including policies around children and youth in the building, use of the space by community organizations, and codes of conduct for participants
Build and foster genuine relationships with children and families who often utilize the CORE, enforcing usage policies and best practices relating to behavior and language within the space while ensuring individuals feel heard and cared for
Act as the primary contact for members and individuals utilizing the CORE serving as a liaison for organizations and individuals who wish to receive a tour of the CORE building, learn about our programmatic offerings, or who are interested in utilizing the space
Registers all members, guests and visitors on recreation software using the appropriate rules and regulations, as well as greets and properly directs all users providing exceptional customer service
In collaboration with and providing oversight to the Events Coordinator, reviews and maintains the master schedule on recreation software for The CORE facilities
Oversees and collaborates with the Events Coordinator to ensure payment protocols are upheld for usage of the facility and processes payments, memberships, waivers, licenses and permits, reservations and rental requests
Assist with leading and implementing Community Health and Wellness department programming that takes place at The CORE, including the Hub4Health Resource Fair, Baby Goods Exchange, CORE Action Team, FamilyFit, and others
Develop and distribute marketing and recruitment materials for a variety of community programs happening at The CORE, and establish effective communication strategies, including social media and website updates, for disseminating CORE information to our community members and partners, in coordination with the Communications Coordinator
Identify, build, and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships for disseminating information about CORE programming to accomplish EHC’s goals, mission, and vision in cooperation with the CHW team
Alongside the CHW team and EHC work to address Social Drivers of Health in order to serve patients and community members. Develop an understanding of, and provide referrals for, community resources available to community members and participants
Assist CHW team with regular productivity reporting, data analysis, and grant reporting
Problem-solve and provide feedback to the CHW team to assure quality programming, grant outcomes, and goal prioritization
Communicates directly, effectively, and in a timely fashion with the CHW team and community members, and partner organizations
Represent EHC and the CHW team in resource fairs, tabling opportunities, and community meetings, as needed
Coordinate and assist in planning for events such as community meetings, block parties, health fairs and local business fairs that may happen at The CORE or our adjacent properties
Foster a climate of collaboration, understanding, and teamwork both within the program team(s), department, and as it relates to EHC in general
Adheres to professional ethics and boundaries in the care of others
Utilizes trauma-informed, compassionate practices when engaging, with children, individuals, families, and community partners using the CORE

Required

Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, Communications, Community Health, Community Development, Community Advocacy, Social Work, or related field
Two (2) or more years of professional experience in working with children, social work, programming, community organizing, or related experience may be considered
Demonstrated cultural humility, strong cross-cultural sensitivity and experiences, required
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Social Drivers of Health (SDOH)
Experience in program development, implementation, facilitation, and grant tracking/reporting, etc, required
Demonstrated ability to work within a community setting with diverse populations
Able to present ideas and opinions clearly and concisely, both written and orally
Demonstrated ability to take initiative with new projects and assignments
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and programs at the same time
Competency in Google Suite, knowledge of database and data analysis
Ability to foster a spirit of humility, listening, and unity in response to criticism with the end goal of becoming better poised to serve the community
Demonstrable maturity and professionalism in the workplace
Able to integrate personal faith with work at EHC
Will require the ability to work some evenings and weekends
Must be willing to work in a complex community
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record (access to a vehicle preferred)
Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long periods of time
Must be able to read fine print on paper, computer, and databases
Must be able to lift 20 lbs. (assist with stacking chairs for community events, etc.), climb stairs, drive or travel to other EHC sites, and walk to and from parking lots

Preferred

Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
Experience with trauma and resiliency practices and protective factors, preferred
Experience with family/kinship and youth programming, preferred
Experience in restorative practices to address conflict management/resolution among youth, preferred
Built environment experience, a plus
Supervisory or lead experience, including oversight of part-time or program staff, preferred
Knowledge of community resources, churches and community organizations, especially those in North Philadelphia, preferred
