Responsibilities
Work closely with sales associates to understand prospect’s commercial lines insurance needs
Develop submissions to carriers and obtain quotes. Respond to underwriters’ inquiries
Negotiate terms with carriers on prospect’s behalf
Finalize the marketing process and prepare appropriate proposal presentations
Bind coverage for clients and execute client onboarding process
Develop knowledge of insurance markets on behalf of USI
Develop relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives
Serve as technical expert on market trends, pricing practices, and other underwriting policies
Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems and technology platforms
Keep current with industry, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology
Qualification
Required
10 years + experience in commercial property & casualty insurance agency
Comprehensive understanding of all property & casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts
Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license
Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite of products
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction
Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate work
Ability to maintain relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
College degree preferred
Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred
Working knowledge of internet-based programs
Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred
