Responsibilities
Ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices [21 CFR Part 111,117 & 211) are adhered. Independently perform inspection across multiple production stages proficiently and ensure compliance with quality standards
Ability to follow instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the materials, components or products
Conducts sampling (Analytical, Microbial, Customer and Retains] and ensures testing against appropriate methods. Sampling must be conducted appropriately using good technique and verifying against dimensional and functional specifications. Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as quantity of defective products per batch
Collect samples for Analytical, Microbial, Customer and Retains as applicable and document within the appropriate quality record (batch record, specification, unipoint, etc.}
Communicate to next level leader prior to rejecting raw materials, in process manufacturing or finished product with respect to quality standards
Performs in process testing [such as allergen, ATP, Water Activity, Brix, Hardness, Thickness, Friability, etc.]. Provides guidance to manufacturing team on corrective actions for out-of-specification results
Verifies Bill of Materials [bulk & packaging components} and ensures proper 10 tagging and organization of raw materials, components, staged bulk and finished goods on the production floor including reconciliation and pallet counts
Ability to enter quality data & verify expiration dates into ERP system prior to Finished Goods release
Verifies batch record matches items staged within manufacturing and packaging lines
Verifies monitoring equipment [scales, metal detectors, torque meter etc.] is functioning correctly per our established SOPs
Conduct bulk and final product acceptable quality limit (AQL} inspections per established SOPs. Understands varying sampling schemes based on sample size and AQL parameters
Responsible for reviewing the cleaning Logs and provide verification authorization signature to release lines
Ensure proper hold procedures and communication or alert management of any unusual occurrence and any pertinent issues that affect raw materials, production and/or packaging
Inspects and maintains working environment routinely and ensures adherence to company safety policies and procedures
May be required to operate forklift, pallet jacks, etc. if needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must have 3+ experience working in a quality related environment
Should be able to lift a maximum of 25-30 lbs. of material when needed
High School Diploma/Certificate; one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
Food Safety or Dietary Supplement Experience a plus
