Responsibilities
Fabricate, cut, and shape sheet metal (aluminum, galvanized steel, stainless steel, copper) using hand tools, power tools, brakes, shears, and welding equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and installation
Install sheet metal components for HVAC systems, including ductwork, vents, hoods, plenums, and related assemblies
Measure, layout, and mark dimensions on materials following project plans
Fit, assemble, and secure metal parts using screws, bolts, rivets, welds, and sealants
Perform system testing and adjustments, including checking for air leaks and balancing airflow
Coordinate with other trades to sequence work efficiently
Follow safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper tool use
Qualification
Required
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and climb ladders to work at heights
Experience in crawling in attics, basements, and tight mechanical spaces
Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Preferred
Familiarity with operating lifts and other equipment
Possession of a personal set of tools
