Application Engineer

Responsibilities

Feasibility Studies: Conduct in-depth feasibility studies to assess the viability of automation projects. Analyze customer requirements, technical challenges, and cost considerations to determine project feasibility
Project Management: Lead automation projects from concept to delivery. Define project scope, objectives, and timelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and sales, to ensure successful project execution
Machine Design: Design and engineer automation machines, including selecting appropriate components, specifying materials, and ensuring compliance with safety standards
Prototyping: Build prototypes and conduct testing to validate design concepts and performance. Iterate designs based on test results and customer feedback
In-House Automation Projects: Oversee and manage internal automation projects aimed at improving efficiency and productivity within the company
Tradeshow Machines: Create captivating and functional tradeshow machines that showcase Igus Inc.'s automation solutions to potential customers and industry partners
Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding automation projects, ensuring successful implementation and customer satisfaction

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in managing automation projects, from concept to completion
Strong knowledge of automation technologies, robotics, and machine design
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and automation programming languages
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong project management and organizational abilities
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to travel occasionally for tradeshows and customer visits
