Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize data models across diverse database technologies including OLTP and big data systems
Architect end-to-end data solutions that align with business requirements and technical constraints
Implement and optimize data queries for performance, scalability, and reliability
Build and maintain data platforms on cloud infrastructure (AWS/Google Cloud)
Lead the design and development of data insights frameworks and tools
Establish data engineering best practices and mentor junior team members
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies into our data ecosystem
Qualification
Required
7 plus years of experience to design, implement, and optimize data infrastructure
6 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on data platforms
Deep expertise in relational database systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL) including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
Strong experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
Proficiency in Python and data processing frameworks
Experience deploying and managing data platforms on AWS and/or Google Cloud
Strong understanding of data architecture principles and design patterns
Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on system optimization
Ability to handle conflicting project demands and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong curiosity and a willingness to learn and talk about emerging technologies along with a positive and enthusiastic engagement style
Demonstrate innovative and creative thinking capabilities and also have sharp troubleshooting skills
Education: BS / MS in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
Preferred
Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Gemini AI, GitHub Copilot)
Knowledge of real-time data processing systems (Kafka, Kinesis)
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with data governance and compliance requirements
Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)
Understanding of data visualization tools and techniques
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure
