Sr Engineer - Interdisciplinary Engineering

GE Aerospace is seeking a Senior Materials Behavior Engineer to lead the development, testing, characterization, and lifecycle performance evaluation of structural and functional materials. This role focuses on polymer matrix composite materials testing and characterization, along with project management and material design curve development.

Responsibilities

Execute on the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies, or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements
Provide technical guidance to personnel supporting the assigned project
Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

Required

Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics
4+ years of experience in materials behavior with emphasis on polymer matrix composites (PMC) testing and characterization
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Preferred

Advanced degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrates ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrates ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
