Systems Analyst Associate
Northwestern University is seeking a Systems Analyst Associate to support the design, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise applications. The role involves gathering and analyzing user requirements, contributing to documentation, and performing testing to ensure software functionality.

Responsibilities
Participates with senior analysts, end users and peers to ensure that user requirements are gathered, analyzed, all gaps are documented, and all deliverables completed (adhering to approved methodology and documentation standards)
Participates with functional users and technical staff to determine best approaches, ensuring that approved solutions are implemented in a timely and correct fashion
Contributes to the creation of accurate documentation of process, procedure, and system/application configuration
Provides input into the creation and maintenance of test scripts, implementation project plans, roll out communications and training materials
Identifies simple use cases
Provides input into test scripts and performs detailed testing for simple use cases to ensure that the implemented software functions correctly
Participates in iterative feedback processes among users, developers, and analysts to ensure software functionality aligns with requirements
Enters basic software configurations to meet user needs
Collaborates with technical, reporting and application resources to analyze and resolve basic production issues in a timely manner
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience
Enterprise Applications: Ascend by Kindsight, Blackthorn, PeopleSoft Financials/SCM (NU Financials), Salesforce
Infrastructure: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook), SOQL (Salesforce), SQL/MySQL/Postgres
Programming Languages and Frameworks: Apex
Analytical: critical thinking, debugging, decision making, judgment, problem solving, troubleshooting, use-case analysis
Project: collaboration and teamwork, cost/benefit analysis, functional documentation, organizational skills, planning
Preferred
Knowledge of higher education or public sector business processes including Accounts Payable, Travel and Expenses, Procure-to-Pay, Supplier Management, Supplier Contract Management, General Accounting, Facilities Management as related to, Maintenance, Repair and Operations, Capital Projects Management and Space Management, Advancement activities related to Alumni Relations and gift processing
Exposure to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft Financials (NUFinancials), Oracle Fusion ERP, and/or Workday Financial Management
Experience with SQL or other query tools to perform analysis
Excellent learning skills, ability to synthesize and extend learning to other similar cases
Ability to quickly acquire technical and functional proficiency with new software applications
Ability to effectively present ideas, both orally, and in a written form
