Senior General Ledger Accountant

LHH is an aerospace manufacturing company seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Responsibilities

Manage full cycle accounting process for assigned areas including the preparation and recording of journal entries, reconciliations and financial statement review
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations while being able to identify and correct reconciling items promptly
Analyze financial data to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, while proactively identifying areas for improvement
Foster cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper accounting for business activities
Analyze and explain monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheet and income statement fluctuations
Research technical accounting issues and implement relevant standards and frameworks as needed
Work closely with A/R and A/P teams to ensure accuracy of account balances
Review financial statements for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with accounting policies
Assist in implementation, oversight and compliance with Company’s SOX procedures and internal controls
Support interim and year-end audits by coordinating with external auditors and internal partners, providing necessary documentation
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and provide insights to management as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

5+ years of accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Strong US GAAP knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Preferred

CPA preferred
Mix of public and industry experience
Big 4 experience a plus
Experience with ERP systems (Quantum a plus)
