JayJeffers is a boutique high-end residential and hospitality design firm seeking an experienced design assistant. The role involves supporting designers in all phases of the design process, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring project schedules are adhered to.

Responsibilities

Develop preliminary fabric and material schemes
Draft furniture plans, elevation drawings, and lighting plans in AutoCAD
Source furnishings, fabrics, wall coverings, flooring, lighting, and plumbing fixtures
Create and maintain project binders and database
Prepare design boards in InDesign for client presentations
Gather accurate pricing and lead times, prepare client orders for purchasing approval, write purchase orders
Create and maintain thorough finish, lighting, and paint schedules for contractors
Expedite projects, if needed, to ensure timely receipt of furnishings and fixtures in good condition
Schedule installation of fixtures and finishes with subcontractors, verify work quality
Coordinate project installations, trouble-shooting issues as they arise

Qualification

AutoCADAdobe PhotoshopInDesignSketch Up3D renderingProject management softwareTeamworkOrganizational skillsCommunication skills

Required

Design and presentation skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, PowerPoint, and Photoshop
Valid driver's license
Experience working on high-end residential interiors
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2012 or higher
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred

Experience with Sketch Up
Experience in 3D rendering programs
Experience with Studio Designer or similar project management software
