Responsibilities
On-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar (CAT) Power Generation equipment and related systems
Servicing and performing CAT diesel and gas generators (5KW to 3MW)
Servicing and performing Switchgear and ATS systems
Servicing and performing Control panels and electrical distribution systems
Perform load bank testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance
Use diagnostic tools (e.g., CAT ET (Electronic Technician), SIS (Service Information System), and other computer-based diagnostic tools/software) to troubleshooting issues
Provide exceptional customer service and technical support
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and documentation standards
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power generation systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in repairing diesel engines, generators, and industrial equipment
Experience with CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or Detroit Diesel generator systems
Familiarity with switchgear brands like Russelectric, Lakeshore, or Asco
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and control diagrams
Military or field-based experience in equipment diagnostics and repair is highly valued
Comfortable working independently in outdoor environments
Must own and safely use personal mechanic's tools
