Director of Product Management

The Director of Product Management provides strategic and operational leadership for the technical product portfolio, owning the full product lifecycle and partnering closely with various departments to ensure product success.

Responsibilities
Own and communicate the product vision and multi‑year roadmap, grounded in customer needs, competitive intelligence, and material handling market trends
Translate market and customer requirements into clear product requirements and technical specifications for engineering and development teams
Partner with Marketing to define Voice of Customer (VoC) insights, go‑to‑market strategies, and compelling value propositions
Build and defend business cases, including cost targets, pricing strategy, and financial return analysis
Establish and manage product portfolio KPIs, reporting on performance, margin, lifecycle stage, and strategic alignment
Collaborate with Sales through key customer engagements, channel strategy, product training, and opportunity planning
Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities, including adjacent product categories, new markets, regions, or channels
Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to drive cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply continuity
Lead continuous improvement of product, sales, and marketing processes to increase speed, consistency, and effectiveness
Provide people leadership, including hiring, coaching, performance management, development planning, and budget ownership
Perform other duties as needed to support business growth
Qualification
Required
Proven, results‑driven product leader with the ability to convert strategy into execution
Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex technical and commercial concepts to diverse audiences
Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority
Exceptional leadership skills with a collaborative, accountability‑driven approach
Advanced business and financial acumen, including ROI, IRR, EVA, and product P&L management
Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives using financial impact and strategic alignment
Experience managing engineered, industrial products across multiple sites or regions
Deep understanding of material handling, industrial automation, or closely related engineered systems
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Product Leadership, or a related field required (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 10 years of progressive Product Management experience
Experience working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and operations in an industrial environment
Preferred
M.B.A. Preferred
Strong preference for candidates with direct material handling industry experience (e.g., conveyors, automation systems, controls, engineered industrial products)
