Public Affairs Intern

The Green Bay Packers’ Public Affairs team is searching for a self‐motivated, college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field, to intern full time from January 2025 through June 2026. The role involves assisting in corporate communications functions and ongoing projects, including writing and editing press materials and facilitating media coverage.

Responsibilities

Assists with the writing, editing and proofreading of press releases, media advisories and other media materials as needed
Write content for Packers.com related to community and public affairs topics
Use Cision and other media monitoring platforms to complete media reports to build interesting, helpful media coverage reports for all departments
Help develop, write, edit and proofread content for internal and external communication pieces, including newsletters, social media and email content for Packers departments and initiatives
Facilitate media coverage and interview requests for events, press conferences, film and documentary shoots, etc., including during some gamedays
Research public affairs topics to facilitate connections with stakeholders and elected officials
Build media contacts lists, keeping up-to-date on different outlets and reporters for a variety of topics as needed
Build and maintain Public Affairs Stakeholders contact lists
Field inquiries from fans, media and members of the public as needed
Assist with football communications as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or a related field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including writing skills
Proficient in AP Style
Assist internal and external clients in a polite, friendly, and knowledgeable manner
Follow through with projects and requests from start to finish
Experience using Microsoft Office
Availability to work weekends, after-hours and some holidays as needed
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
Ability to reach, stoop, and lift on a frequent basis
Ability to focus on projects for periods of time
Operates in a professional office environment
Role routinely uses standard office equipment
