$100K/yr - $258K/yrTesla’s Energy Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated individual to program manage existing and new design engineering for Residential Energy Products, including Solar Panels and related products. This role involves coordinating between various groups to define and drive the development of new product programs while managing changes on existing programs.

Responsibilities
Work with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Operations, Facilities and Construction, Reliability, Test, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and other supporting functions in order to identify and scope projects for key Residential Energy Product assembly design and manufacturing
Manage product cost down and quality improvements
Create, maintain, communicate, and present schedules for design and manufacturing engineering projects to the engineering leadership team
Prioritize the engineering team’s work based on risk, resources and payback
Identify creative ways to overcome obstacles and meet the schedule despite setbacks
Define processes that will improve risk and change management
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience in the management of engineering projects for mass produced products
Demonstrated experience with engineering product design cycle, manufacturing line bring up, and ramp to mass production
Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining and communicating schedules
Demonstrated understanding of multilevel Bill of Material hierarchy, including hardware and software components
Demonstrated understanding of product release cycle as it relates to the creation and change management of parts and BOM structures
Ability to inspire confidence in multiple layers of management from executive to associate levels, as the face of your programs
Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain personnel
Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a closely related field or equivalent experience
