Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain the OpenText Network Operations Management (NOM) system architecture, with a specific focus on the Operations Bridge for the Transformation and Integration Cloud (OPTIC) Data Lake, ensuring a scalable, resilient, and secure platform for enterprise network management, performance monitoring, and compliance reporting
Provide SME support and guidance to junior administrators and operators that manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within NOM to ensure data security and compliance
Plan, install, configure, secure, upgrade, and patch the OPTIC Data Lake (DL) in containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes). Conduct similar duties for the Juniper Routing Director (formerly Paragon), which runs Kubernetes with a Linux base OS. Develop and maintain API integrations using REST APIs and connectors to connect both platforms with other enterprise systems and applications
Monitor and optimize the performance and stability of the OpenText NOM and OPTIC DL systems, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
Configure and manage data ingestion into the OPTIC Data Lake, ensuring seamless integration of topology, events, and metrics from various sources
Administer the OPTIC DL, including data ingestion, storage, backup, and restore processes, and manage Stakeholder Dashboards and reports for capacity planning and trend analysis
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to installation, configuration, performance, and integrations, working with vendor support when necessary
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation according to standards
Automate routine operational processes using scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, PowerShell) to increase efficiency and reduce manual workload

Required

Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years, master's and 10 years, bachelor's and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years
Must be compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
Deep expertise in container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes in Linux environments
Proficiency in Linux (RHEL) with experience administering tools in virtualized or containerized environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, possess solid communication skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred

Knowledge and familiarity of database management systems like PostgreSQL or Vertica
Knowledge of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP) and experience with network monitoring tools
Familiarity with scripting languages for automation, such as Perl, Ruby, or Python
