Responsibilities

Leads the strategic planning and execution of 25+ annual events, including Reunion Weekend and all campaign-related experiences, to foster alumni engagement and philanthropic support
Designs innovative programming aligned with MIT Sloan's priorities; collaborates with faculty and senior leadership; and manages event logistics, budgets, and vendor relationships
Leads campaign-related events from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with broader fundraising and engagement goals
Supervise two associate directors and guide a high-performing team in delivering impactful events
Partner with MIT's Resource Development and Alumni Association to coordinate school and Institute-wide engagement efforts
Drive event strategy, innovation, and operational excellence

Required

Bachelor's degree
a minimum of five years of experience in event management, preferably within nonprofit or higher education settings
demonstrated strong project management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
experience working with senior leadership, faculty, donors, and external vendors
proficiency in platforms such as Cvent, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Microsoft Office suite
high level of professionalism, initiative, and collaboration
strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

Preferred

Experience engaging mid-career alumni
two years of supervisory experience ideally leading an event production team
