Quality Assurance Manager - Commercial Bakery - Muskegon MI
Epi Breads is a privately owned commercial bakery seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality initiatives at their Muskegon, MI plant. The role focuses on ensuring food safety, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction while collaborating with the operations team to meet regulatory and customer standards.

Responsibilities
Directs and manages the food safety function for the plant including establishing, monitoring and maintaining defined control systems
Identifies critical points in the manufacturing process to ensure highest level of food safety
Determines types of tests that need to be performed as well as documentation and reporting requirements
Collaborates with Operations Team to establish and maintain food safety and sanitation standards for materials, work in process and finished products
Collaborates with Operations Team to adjust process as needed to ensure our products meet and exceed all regulatory and customer established quality assurance and food safety requirements
Involvement with supplier documentation for raw materials approval
Management of food defense program and security and environmental monitoring programs
Establish root causes of any quality deviations and creates corrective actions
Assumes responsibility for the quality of products produced and shipped to customers
Works collaboratively with plant team to ensure plant successfully meets or exceeds criteria to pass annual BRC inspections
Coordinates all activities with team to prepare and maintain standards to remain audit ready at all times in the facility
Work with team on the successful launch and production of new products to meet customer satisfaction
Ensures customer satisfaction for delivery and quality performance, and for responsiveness and cooperation, per best practices and customer feedback
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Food Safety/ Sanitation experience required
Strong background with HACCP/FSP/BRC – internal/external food safety audits
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement – IPM
Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology is preferred but not required
Familiar with FDA labeling policies and processing requirements preferred
Six Sigma Certification a PLUS!
Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus!
Food safety: 3 years (Preferred)
