The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing all production and facilities-related maintenance operations, ensuring equipment is maintained to minimize downtime and meet food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Select, train and supervise department employees; evaluate performance to assure adherence to performance standards, taking corrective action as required. Maintain awareness of employee needs and concerns and take steps necessary to foster a positive and respectful work environment

Manages the proper assignment of day-to-day activities of direct reports

Demonstrates a high proficiency and understanding of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and code compliance

Ensure timely and efficient preventive maintenance and repair of production and process equipment. Manages downtime to a minimum, supporting efforts to continually improve activities to reduce costs

Manages stock of parts inventory

Selection, installation and testing of new equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications

Maintains a safe work environment throughout the facility. Enforces all company policies and procedures

Maintaining of equipment and facilities in accordance with company and governmental agencies, such as USDA, FDA, and OSHA

Modification and enhancement of existing equipment and production lines to enhance through-put utilizing sanitary design

Participates as an active member of management and supports the assigned facilities to achieve key performance metrics and goals

Supervises maintenance department staff to deliver installation, maintenance, and repairs to machinery, equipment, physical structures, fixtures and pipe, and electrical systems in the manufacturing facility and offices

Meets with outside service vendors to solicit bids for repairs and services that require specialized skills

Tracks maintenance expenses and reports status back to production director or designee

Works closely with the operations, food safety quality assurance, and maintenance teams to improve factory safety, food safety, quality, and productivity

Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time

Required

6+ years in food manufacturing with experience in batch and continuous manufacturing, site engineering, equipment maintenance and sanitary design

3+ years' experience in a supervisory/management position

Demonstrated ability to perform troubleshooting, cause finding and taking corrective actions to address system shutdowns in a high-pressure environment

Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, automation troubleshooting

Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others

Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) with the ability to learn new applications
