Responsibilities
Lead multiple teams and managers to deliver a cohesive data movement platform, from integrations and ingestion to internal exchange and orchestration
Define and own the vision and roadmap for Data Exchange and translate it into clear priorities, milestones, and success metrics
Scale ingestion and synchronization systems to support rapidly growing data volumes and increasingly complex enterprise and vertical use cases
Improve reliability and operability by driving best practices in SLOs, on‑call, incident response, observability, and runbooks for all Data Exchange services
Drive cost‑efficient architectures in partnership with Data Platform and SRE, improving the unit economics of data movement (storage, compute, network)
Partner deeply across R&D (Data Platform, Core Data, Ecosystems/Integrations, Application teams) to align Data Exchange work with company‑level OKRs
Grow and mentor leaders—coaching engineering managers and senior ICs, setting a high bar for technical quality, execution, and collaboration
Qualification
Required
You've led multiple engineering teams or an EM+IC group of ~20+ engineers, with at least 2+ years managing managers
You've built and operated large‑scale data pipelines, ingestion/synchronization systems, or integration platforms
You think in terms of APIs, contracts, and reusable building blocks that make it easy for other teams to build on your platform
You're comfortable taking ambiguous goals, breaking them down into a plan, and delivering high‑impact outcomes across teams and quarters
You have a track record of growing engineering managers and senior ICs, building inclusive, healthy, high‑performing teams
You explain complex technical trade‑offs clearly, and you build strong relationships with Product, Design, Security, SRE, and GTM partners
Preferred
Public cloud (AWS or similar), Kubernetes, Terraform
Streaming, processing, and messaging (Kafka, Pulsar, Kinesis, Spark, Flink, Airflow)
Data storage & query (MySQL/Postgres, Iceberg, ClickHouse, data lakes/warehouses)
